About

Hi, I'm Doug Allpress. I'm an AI Automation & Process Engineer with more than a decade of shipping software — React and TypeScript on the front, Java on the back, and lately a lot of Python in between for machine learning and mapping work.

AI Learning Press is where I write down what I'm figuring out. Most of it circles the same question: how do you get an AI system to actually understand the situation it's operating in? That means context pipelines, retrieval that doesn't lie, evaluation that catches regressions, and the boring process work that makes automation trustworthy inside an organization.

Posts here are meant to be practical. If I share a technique, I try to include the code, the failure modes, and what I'd do differently. If you disagree with something, I'd love to hear it — LinkedIn is the fastest way to reach me.

I post short versions of these ideas on LinkedIn and keep code on GitHub.
